So I took Michael and Audrey to last nights Hawkeye Womens Basketball exhibition game and Audrey had to use the facilities, so we went in to the mens restroom and entered the big handicap stall so we could all fit in there. Michael and I turned around while Audrey did her thing, and Michael said, “Dad, f*** Iowa State”. I immediately turned around and yelled “WHAT DID YOU SAY?!?!?!!?” He pointed to some writing on the stall wall that said “F*** IOWA STATE”. Then I had to explain to him that that word is not one that we use because it is a bad word, and I told him I wasn’t mad at him about it.

So today was Michael’s first Hawkeye Football game. We started off the morning by getting a ride from Kate to the train “station” on the Hawkeye Express. It took about ten minutes to get there. We got off and went to a tailgate party at the Hawkeye Village. There they had brats, “barbeque” beef, marinated chicken, pork cutlets, potato salad and pasta salad. There were also brownies and carrot cake, as well as pop and water.

As my wife posted on her blog, our pet fish Nemo has passed away. I won’t bore you with all of the details; if you’re really interested you can read Kate’s entry.

It must have been sometime on Monday that it happened, but we didn’t notice until the kids were already in bed, so we didn’t say anything. I meant to tell them sometime Tuesday as soon as they got home from school, but I forgot. It wasn’t until we sat down to eat dinner, and I was munching on my fishsticks that I remembered. I wasn’t sure how to bring it up, so I said “Hey, did you guys see Nemo?” They ran over to look at him and thought he was playing like he normally did, but I told them he wasn’t. They didn’t believe me for a minute, but then they realized it was true, and they started going nuts, Michael especially. He said he wanted a get a new fish that night, while he was bawling. I hope when I die he waits a while to replace me.

…and FINALLY I’m near the top of the list. I’ve been googling my name for over a year and would always find my site on the 5th or 6th page or even worse. But not any longer!

UPDATE: Yesterday when I googled “chris wheeler” I was in 3rd place. Today, not even a full day later, I am at 7th. I’m not sure why.

So a report out of the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction at Indiana University found that more than half of men think about sex all the time, or at least several times a day.

I’m not exactly sure how this is news. I think I knew about this before I even understood was sex was.

OK, so here is this super awesome music video for “Here It Goes Again” by OK Go. I saw this a few weeks ago on VH1′s Best Week Ever. This group did the choreography on treadmills. I can’t even describe it. It is super sweet, and totally worth a look.
